In the retail world Christmas starts at least 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Preping products, brainstorming ideas for decoration, yada yada, so on and so forth. After Thanksgiving it's full steam ahead. The massive locomotive that is the pressure of Christmas promotion combusts into motion, if not aware you will be left feeling like you’ve been hit by a train.
Amongst all of this locomotion commotion mom and I were/are planning and making ALOT of changes for our shop. Switching up our hours for the winter, focusing on classes and our own products/work, and online marketing. ALSO, my husband and I are working on remodeling a house which we will be moving to in early February(hopefully)
So, with ALL of this going on, its really easy to forget having the real spirit of Christmas. To really savor the time and wonder of Christmas. The warmth your heart feels to be with family, to remember the story of Jesus's coming to us as a little child, to meet a stranger on the street and wish them a Merry Christmas, to have hope for the kindness in everyone.
Let us remember this the whole year,
"Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”
-Calvin Coolidge (the 30th President of the United States)
Although its been said many times, many ways, Merry Christmas!
P.S.- My son Elias FINALLY walked on Christmas Eve! The little bugger walked a whole 15 feet with no trouble at all. I suppose he just wanted to give us a nice gift for Christmas.
